Here’s an itinerary that will allow you to discover the best of Agrigento, day by day, with suggestions for dinner and evening activities.

Day 1: Immersion in History and Culture

Morning:

Valley of the Temples in Agrigento: Start your adventure in Agrigento by visiting the famous Valley of the Temples, one of the most important archaeological sites in Sicily. Take the time to admire the Temple of Concordia, one of the best-preserved temples in the Greek world. Continue with the Temple of Juno, which offers a stunning panoramic view of the Valley, and the Temple of Hercules. If you have time, you can also visit the Archaeological Museum of Agrigento, which houses numerous historical artifacts from the region.

Afternoon:

Kolymbethra Garden: After visiting the Valley, head to the Kolymbethra Garden, a green oasis in the heart of the Valley of the Temples. Here, you can take a walk surrounded by nature, among centuries-old trees and Mediterranean plants, and relax with an incredible view.

Stroll through Agrigento’s Historic Center: After visiting the Valley, continue with a walk through the city’s historic center. Luigi Pirandello Theatre and Via Atenea: Spend the morning exploring the Luigi Pirandello Theatre, where you can admire one of the most important historic buildings in Agrigento. The theater, named after the famous Sicilian playwright, is a symbol of the city and is worth a visit to appreciate its architecture and charm. Take a stroll along the historic Via Atenea, filled with shops and buildings rich in history.

Underground Agrigento: If you’re a history enthusiast, don’t miss a visit to Underground Agrigento, a fascinating tour that will take you through the city’s underground spaces, with caves and tunnels that tell the story of the city’s ancient life.

Afternoon:

Tour of Agrigento’s Historic Churches: In the afternoon, discover some of the most important and historic churches in the city.
